Happy October!

It’s a bright blue day in the Pacific Northwest. The sun is out, the wind is blowing, and the trees are starting to put on their fall clothes.

Some exciting news to share. Earlier this year, I learned that Orca Rescue is a 2025 Sasquatch Award nominee! each year the Washington Library Association nominates 12 books, which are read by 4th, 5th and 6th graders around the state. Students vote for their favorite in the spring.
I am over the moon! I am so excited to think of all the classrooms and students who will be learning about Springer. A true story of hope, that happened here, and not that long ago.

I would love to share this story with students and classrooms around the state, either virtually or in person.
To request a presentation or reading, please send an email to donna@donnasandstrom.com. If you’d like to sponsor a presentation, please get in touch too!

Thanks again to the Washington Library Association for this wonderful nomination. Go, Springer!
